hello yes. Welcome
raquelita
Week 2: 9/2/2022 we got a workshop from Amy and Sarafina where they explained to us their practices in relation to writing. For my exercise I used an Albert Heijn cook book with below-mediocre recipes. Since the book was in Dutch I used the photograph ability on google-translate to get my poem. This was the result:
To finalise the workshop we established the groups we will work in for the rest of the project. The group involves Nienke, Zoe, and I. We have chosen the themes of Hauntology and Rejuvenation. they are broad enough to let creativity flow, while still keeping a margin between how we will coincide.
Hauntology: Hauntology (a portmanteau of haunting and ontology[1]) is a range of ideas referring to the return or persistence of elements from the social or cultural past, as in the manner of a ghost. It is a neologism first introduced by French philosopher Jacques Derrida in his 1993 book Specters of Marx.

Rejuvenation: the act of restoring a youthful figure.

Job 33:25

Let his flesh become fresher than in youth,
Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor;

21/02/2022 After our first IRL meeting we have been talking about teachers shaping our childhoods and acting as a ghost in our current realities. We were all working at the ceramics station at WdKA, this way we were all making art, and brainstorming themes at the same time. There is also a boundary created between at some point of our social maturity where teachers turn into "mentors" or "allies" and we have to be our own teachers. Our homework now is: write a letter to one of our teachers, watch Ghosts of Mark Fisher: Hauntology, Lost Futures, and Depression to have a discussion to have a collective discussion tomorrow 22/02/2022 (cool date wow) at my studio to further develop our concept and ideas.
add photo of what i made in ceramics so far.
